A New Life in Scotland  is our permanent exhibition showing how Jewish immigrants came to Scotland, some fleeing poverty and persecution, to seek out religious tolerance, political freedom, educational opportunity and a chance to earn a better living.  The display features a timeline of Jewish history in Scotland, artworks by Scottish Jewish artists, artifact displays from the Archives Centre collection, major graphic wall displaying 24 individuals’ stories of immigration and Jewish life in Scotland up to the present day.

Visitors to the Archives Centre can combine viewing the exhibition and the historic Garnethill Synagogue – the oldest purpose built Synagogue in Scotland and a grade 1 listed building.
