Jackson Carlaw CBE

Jackson is the former MSP for Eastwood (2016 – 2026) having previously served from 2007 as the MSP for the West of Scotland Region. He has served in various capacities in the Scottish Conservative Party for over 50 years and is a former Leader of the party in Scotland.

Jackson founded and convened the Scottish Parliament Cross Party Group ‘Building Bridges with Israel’ for ten years. In the most recent parliament (2021 – 26) he was the Convener of the Citizen Participation & Public Petitions Committee and the longest serving member of the parliament’s executive management committee the Scottish Parliament Corporate Body (SPCB).

Prior to entering the Scottish Parliament, he spent 25 years in the Scottish Motor Retail Industry & also held various voluntary posts within the Scottish Conservative Party.

He is  married to Wynne and will celebrate their 40^th wedding anniversary in 2027. They have two adult sons. Jackson is a keen reader with a variety of interests.
